INTRODUCTION

The Ideal Clinic requires the achievement of the elements as depicted in the Ideal Clinic dashboard. As part of the dashboard the training of health care providers in waste management and the correct use of medical equipment.

 

PURPOSE OF THE TRAINING

Increase knowledge and understanding on all aspects relevant for appropriate Waste Management
Increase knowledge and understanding on the use of all medical equipment used at primary health care facility level.

 

TARGET GROUP

Enrolled nurses (EN’s), Enrolled Nursing Auxiliaries (ENA’s), Registered Professional Nurses, Clinical Nurse Practitioners and Medical Officers.

 

MAXIMUM NO OF PARTICIPANTS

Minimum 10 up to a maximum of 20 participants per training session.

 

COURSE DESIGN

A one day interactive contact session with theoretical and practical components using adult learning principles.

 

COURSE CONTENT

The following topics will be covered: 

  • Content aligned with Provincial Waste Management Policies and frameworks
  • ECG, HGT, HB, Defibrillator, BP Monitor etc.
  • Course content subject to change.

TRAINING ASSESSMENT

Knowledge and skills will be assessed by feedback and discussions.

 

TRAINING ACCREDITATION

The training will be HPCSA applied for an estimated 6 CEU’s (subject to change) and is registered with Stellenbosch University as an attendance short course on NQF level 6. The nursing participants who attend this course will receive 1 CPD point for Ethical and Legal or Area of Practice.

 

CERTIFICATION

All participants who complete the course successfully will be awarded with CPD and certificate of completion.
